ASIC Layout Engineer

Position / Job Description

Ostendo Technologies is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced ASIC Layout Engineer to join our collaborative, innovative and fast pace work environment.

Education

Minimum B.S. in Computer Science (foreign equivalent ok)

Position Requirements

  • At least 2 years experience as Analog/Digital IC Layout Engineer.
  • Layout schedule estimation.
  • IC layout floor planning.
  • Layout of analog and digital circuits.
  • Cell level verification and parasitic extraction.
  • Chip/Top level routing and interconnect. LVS and DRC checks using Cadence Assura.
  • Tape out/Stream out.
  • Utilize working knowledge of Unix (Solaris) and Linux operating systems, Cadence tools (Virtuoso, Layout XL, Assura Diva) and Analog and Digital blocks in CMOS technologies.

Mechanical Engineer

Position / Job Description

Ostendo Technologies is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our collaborative, innovative and fast pace work environment. The ideal candidate has proven product development expertise and experience within consumer electronics, electro-mechanical packaging and/or applied opto-mechanical systems.

Education

Minimum B.S. or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering

Position Requirements

  • 5-10 years product design experience.
  • Detail design expertise in electro-mechanical and opto-mechancial system design.
  • Demonstrated conceptual design generation for wide variety of mechanical design challenges.
  • Experience in assembly and integration fixture design.
  • Thorough understanding and application of GD&T.
  • Application toward tolerance and statistical tolerance analysis.
  • Demonstrated design experience for various manufacturing disciplines including precision machined components, sheet metal, plastic injection molding and die-cast part design.
  • Strong experience in PCB mechanical constraint definitions and documentation.
  • Thermal design for electronics cooling experience beneficial.
  • Experience drafting test and qualification plans and requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical component procurement support including supplier correspondence and coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to model electro-mechanical systems and generate engineering/manufacturing specifications for prototypes.
  • CAD experience in SolidWorks.
  • Excellent understanding of material properties and their applications.
  • Experience with industrial prototype fabrication as well as volume production processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in analytical and experimental characterization of design performance.
  • Direct experience working through multiple phases of product development and manufacturing.
  • Candidate should be a self-starter who excels in a multi-disciplined, highly creative and collaborative working environment.

Sr. Optical Engineer

Position / Job Description

Ostendo Technologies, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated individual to fill the position of Sr. Optical Engineer. This individual will be responsible for design and development of precision micro array optics and display optics. The responsibilities include a variety of engineering tasks such as optical sequential and non-sequential ray tracing, FDTD analysis, developing, testing, analyzing, troubleshooting and implementing solutions to Ostendo's display related optics. The Sr. Optical Engineer will create and evaluate optical designs to meet requirements. The successful candidate will be an essential team member of optical engineering group and provide technical skills to support product development from early R&D stage to manufacturing.

Education

Min. MS in Optical Engineering, Physics or equivalent field with more than 5 years of related industry experience. Ph.D preferred

Position Requirements

  • In depth knowledge of optical engineering principles.
  • Understanding the principles of 3D Imaging.
  • Good at optical simulation tools such as FRED, ASAP, and Zemax.
  • Good at FDTD analysis with tool such as Lumerical FDTD simulation software.
  • Experience in Matlab, wafer level optics design and fabrication is a plus.
  • Ability to work either Independently or as part of a development team
  • Self-motivation and ability to work in a fast-moving high-tech environment.
  • Excellent communications skills -- written, verbal and presentations.
  • Analytical problem solving skills. Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.

Sr. Software Engineer

Position / Job Description

Ostendo Technologies, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated individual to fill the position of Sr. Software Engineer. This individual will be responsible for the design and development of a variety of software applications. Ostendo is doing some cutting-edge work, and our software needs are many. The individual will work on a variety of projects, such as desktop software applications and embedded code for our custom microprocessors. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and be able to apply them across a variety of projects and programming languages. The individual must be able to work closely with a variety of teams (hardware, mechanical, optical) to support product development from early R&D stage to manufacturing.

Education

M.S. degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent work experience in a related field.

Position Requirements

  • At least 7 years experience.
  • In depth knowledge of computer science and software design fundamentals.
  • Expertise in developing applications with Java, Swing, JNI. Experience with Eclipse IDE is a plus.
  • Expertise with embedded C programming. Experience writing assembly code is a plus.
  • Knowledge of video algorithms is a plus.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work in a fast-moving, high-tech environment.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Proven analytical problem solving skills. Ability to analyze complex problems and design and develop solutions.
  • Computer literacy using MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
